We’ve previously covered that Brett Favre’s first NFL pass was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. But that was during his forgettable rookie season with the Atlanta Falcons, which featured 4 passes and 2 interceptions. What about his first pass as a Green Bay Packer?
That pass was completed–but to a receiver that not many would have guessed. In the second game of the 1992 season, with the Packers down 17-0, Mike Holmgren inserted Favre into the game to start the second half. On his first play in a Packers uniform, he dropped back to pass, then watched his pass get deflected…back to himself. He caught it, and was immediately tackled for a seven yard loss.
Quite the start to what ended up being a Hall of Fame pairing.
