Quick Hit: Record Streak of 5+ Catches

So I was indulging in an ongoing Trivia Crack feud with a friend, when a question came up that asked what position “record breaker Antonio Brown” played. Of course, my curiosity kicked into gear–I know Antonio Brown is good, but record breaking? So I took to the Google to investigate.

To my surprise, there is an NFL record he holds–not exactly a typically tracked one, but as of the end of the 2014 regular season, Antonio Brown holds the record for most consecutive games with 5 or more catches for 50+ yards, with 32 straight games–that’s two full seasons. In fact, the 2013 season saw Brown and Pierre Garcon join Jimmy Smith as the only players ever to catch 5 or more passes in every game of a 16 game schedule. Garcon’s streak came to an end in week 2 of 2014, while Smith’s streak lasted 19 games from late 2000 to early 2002.

**Update: Brown’s streak came to an end at 36 games on 10/12/15, when he caught three passes in a win over San Diego. He caught three more the following week against Arizona, and then reeled off 10 more games with more than 5 to end the season, including a game with 17 and another with 16.
